Who sends these messages
Chauffeurs Lane is a licensed and insured chauffeur transportation company based in the Atlanta metro area, operating at chauffeurslane.com. SMS notifications are sent by Chauffeurs Lane only — no third party messages customers under our brand.
What we send (transactional only)
SMS from Chauffeurs Lane is strictly transactional. We never send marketing, promotional, or third-party messages. Every text relates to a specific trip the recipient personally booked. Message categories:
- Booking confirmations
- Pre-trip reminders
- Chauffeur status updates (en route, arrived)
- Post-trip receipts and rate-your-trip prompts
- Identity-verification and payment-link notices
- Replies from dispatch to customer-initiated questions
- Safety alerts to trusted contacts the rider has added in the passenger app (and only to those contacts)

How customers opt in
Opt-in is collected via a dedicated, standalone, unchecked-by-default checkbox on the booking form's Review step at chauffeurslane.com/booking/. The checkbox is separate from the cancellation-policy and terms-of-service acceptance. Both checkboxes must be ticked before the “Submit reservation” button enables. Consent is not a condition of purchase — a customer may decline SMS and still book by phone with dispatch.
The exact label the customer sees:
When the box is ticked, the timestamp, the customer's IP address, and the consent-version tag are written to a dedicated SMS-consent record on the customer's reservation row. This record is independent of the booking-terms acceptance record so that an SMS-consent audit can be answered without relying on inference.
Message frequency
Frequency varies by trip activity. A typical round-trip booking generates 4–6 messages spread across confirmation, pre-trip reminder, en-route, arrived, and post-trip receipt. No recurring messages outside the booked trip window.
Carrier rates
Message and data rates may apply per the recipient's mobile carrier plan. Chauffeurs Lane does not charge for SMS.
How to opt out (STOP)
Reply STOP (or CANCEL, END, QUIT, UNSUBSCRIBE, REVOKE, OPTOUT, STOPALL) to any message from our number to immediately stop further texts. A single confirmation message follows, after which no further SMS will be sent unless the customer re-opts-in (by replying START or by checking the consent box on a new booking).

Privacy & data handling
Mobile numbers collected during booking are used only to deliver the transactional messages described above and to authenticate the customer when they sign in to manage their reservation. Numbers are never sold or shared with third parties for their marketing. Full details in our privacy policy.
